Widescreen - 16:9 Cinema Format

All of our wedding films are shot in the 16:9 widescreen format, which is the standard for cinema productions. This gives your wedding film a greater sense of atmosphere than the traditional 4:3 format by providing a wider field of view. It also creates a true a cinematic feel to your video, sharing the look of your DVD collection and the movies you see in the cinema. Clicking on the links below the screen below will show you how the same scene would look in the two formats:

Nearly all modern television sets today come in the widescreen 16:9 format and if you don't have your wedding filmed in 16:9 it will not fill the whole screen - instead black bars will appear either side of the picture. There is no way to convert a 4:3 film into a 16:9 format without cropping into the picture, decreasing the field of view and the quality of the movie so it is essential that the film is captured in 16:9 in the first place.
