1080i High Definition Filming

High definition is the latest technology for recording both picture and sound, offering an unbelievable sense of realism, with incredible clarity and detail. The new format has set new standards for televison and the change from standard definition, which yesterday's television displayed, is as dramatic as the transition from black & white to colour.

Picture quality as been vastly improved with HD having an astonishing 1080 lines of information as opposed to standard definition having only 480. The visual information is about 2-5 times more detailed overall and the gaps between scanning lines are smaller or invisible. The colors also generally look more realistic due to the greater bandwidth of the format and the overal result is an on screen image more true-to-life than ever seen before.

Today, the whole televison industry is switching to high definition broadcasting, whilst the film industry has been using high definition cameras for some time. As the price of high definition players predictably tumble, video on a high definition platform will become the norm within a short space of time.

In the same way digital video on DVD replaced analogue on VHS, a similar revolution has begun with high definition video. Whilst standard digital video offers good quality, the leap up to high definition is far greater than that achieved by the introduction of DVD. You really have to see it to believe it if you haven't already but when you do you will.

The high definition format is widely appreciated for its outstanding quality and choosing the option to shoot in HD will keep your wedding film future proof even if you do not have the means right now to play high definition video content. The time will come and we'll make sure you don't miss out when it does.
